Sumitomo plans to raise pipe price by 20%
Japan’s Sumitomo Metal has announced plans to raise seamless steel pipes up by 20 percent.

The demand from China and East Asia kept increasing and the costs of raw material like the iron ore, coal and ferroalloy rose as well. Besides, Japan’s domestic construction and mechanism industry was good thus the steel demand warms up.

Considering all above factors, Sumitomo Metal decided to raise seamless steel pipe price and welded pipe price.
